Oddly enough, I would have to say my favorite liturgical season is Lent. It is an opportunity to focus on living a better life and drawing closer to God. I also enjoy the liturgies in both the Latin and Byzantine rites for Lent and Holy Week.

especially corpus christi and assumption...
being so busy these months, getting music ready
and practising with utube and occasional real practises...

I can now answer with more precisiion, although I am not sure it caounts as a full grown liturgical season.
The triduum of Allhallowtide. I can't tell you how consoling it is for an e-Calvinist, to pray for the dead, perhaps across time and perhaps to effect.
Most of my life is in the rear-view mirror. Most of those I have loved are dead. To pray for their wellbeing is the first consolation I have had for their passing.
Gloomy? No. Somber? Perhaps. Pensive and loving? Oh yes. There are no words which are adequate.

Calvinism drives people nuts. It drives them to despair, as well as depriving them of innocent joys. No wonder even the Anglicans couldn't stand them and kicked them out. Certain Catholics, especially, in tne "traditionalist movement", take note.
