My subscription expires in early May, and I don't plan on renewing it. I've had enough of the nonsense there. The only things keeping me on CM are the Relate trivia events ... they're kind of fun to a little extent ... having SOME interaction with real, live people is better (in my view) than writing messages with people I don't really know.
well you folks here are 30% of the real people I knew there......
finding online participation in rosaries etc too challenging
for my schedule right now but would enjoy that
Susan:
Bethany (with the Catholic Singles evening Rosary Zoom meetings (every night of the week)) is the lady who sponsors those evening Rosaries; and via email to her distribution list, she sends us a link to gain access to the Zoom meetings. It's very simple -- click on that link and within a few moments, you should be on Zoom. So if you go to her website -- www.CatholicSinglesNewsletter.com -- and add your name, email address, and phone number where indicated (sometimes she sends text messages to everyone for quick reminders about that given evening's Rosary zoom meeting), and you should eventually begin receiving her twice-weekly emails with the current link (the links change for every zoom meeting). They're usually scheduled for 7 pm ET; though Sunday evenings, they're (I think) at 6 pm ET, but the schedule is in every email she sends to everyone.
Aside from the schedule of the nightly Rosary zoom meetings, she also has a number of events for which we can register and attend.
Hope this helps.

More than 6 months ago, when my CM subscription was due to expire (and I had written Admin to remind them that I had asked to have the "auto renewal" turned off), they renewed my subscription anyway!!! So I wrote Admin again, and told them that I had requested that the "auto renewal" be turned off, and asked for a full refund. They refunded me, but the aggravation with their completely ignoring my request was a little unsettling. My current subscription expires late next week; and 4+/- months ago, I wrote them to turn off the "auto renewal"; so I'll be watching to see if they do or don't automatically renew my subscription. I've had enough. Of late, I've been spending a lot more time in my sewing room doing something a lot more productive, and outside walking, instead of sitting like a lump on a log in front of the computer screen (ugh ). I spend more than enough time at the computer at work... don't need nor want to spend more hours at the computer at home.
Also, back in January or February, while attending a Catholic Singles Rosary zoom presentation, the guest speaker (don't remember her name) mentioned that if you're not seeing / meeting anyone at your current church, go to another church (there's no law against doing so). So back in March, I returned to the Byzantine Rite church, located a lot closer to where I live than the other more traditional Roman Rite church ... AND though it's a smaller congregation, they're extremely more open, friendly, warm, and welcoming, and many have been asking me how I've been doing (when I first came down here to Columbus from Cleveland years ago, it was this Byzantine Rite church which was recommended to me; so went there for about 5 years, but became a bit 'homesick' for the Latin Rite church). All that said, there's a gent here (at the Byzantine Rite church) who's still single as far as I know. I've asked some friends to corroborate this, his brother and sister-in-law are parishioners there, too; and have also asked a few of them to help with an introduction. (I still don't have the nerve to walk up to this (or any) man, introduce myself, and strike up a conversation; partly because he's talking with others (in the social hall after Divine Liturgy), and I was taught from very young not to interrupt others. Was also taught that a lady waits .... hence the arranging of an introduction. We shall see what happens.
With that, is there another Catholic church nearby you where you could go to see a different "pool" of women? This is what that guest speaker was encouraging us to do... go somewhere else. Also, let as many of your friends and family know that you're looking for someone. It was the guest speaker's contention that people always love to fix up (meddle ) in others' lives ... especially if they're seemingly happily married.
Your idea of attending the CM Relate events is a good idea; I've been attending some of them; but have grown bored with them; because even though they all SAY you're not alone, I really AM alone, sitting in front of a computer screen, going nowhere. I'm looking forward to meeting the gent this coming Sunday at church.
Here's wishing you a very Happy Easter Week, Armand ... and hope you find your match as soon as possible
Thanks. Mary Alice. I can understand your frustration. My understanding is that websites that have subscriptions with auto-renewal are legally obligated to provide simple, easy-to-use mechanisms to defeat the auto-renewal. It appears that CM may not complying with the law. It is interesting that it was very easy to defeat the auto-renewal on Zoosk, Catholic Chemistry, and e-Harmony.
This came up on a thread here a few months ago. I cannot remember where or when. So you will have to run a search. I vaguely remember someone saying that the way to defeat the auto-renewal on CM is simply to delete your credit card information. This way, they will not have a card to charge it to. You may want to do this in case they "forget" to turn off the auto-renewal again.
I go to different Catholic churches here but have not had much luck finding prospects there. I think it might help to join a group where you run into the same people all the time. We have a Byzantine parish, which I visit from time to time. In fact, I was just there for Good Friday and went three times during Lent for the Friday night "pre-sanctified" service. The liturgy is beautiful and it is warmer and friendlier than most Latin rite parishes. However, it is mostly families with young children. I am glad some people are having babies but I feel I would stand out like a sore thumb there being single if I joined the parish.
I have had friends who have tried to "fix me up." Unfortunately, the last two were fallen away Catholics, the first one an an atheist and the second an evangelical. I am still friends with the latter but I do not see her as a dating and marriage prospect because of the religious difference and the unannulled divorce.
I certainly understand the feeling of being alone, which is even worse when you see no end in sight. I cannot resolve the paradox of feeling alone while knowing that there are so many of us who are in the same boat.
Thanks again, Mary Alice. I hope your meeting with the gentleman goes well this Sunday. I wish you a very blessed Easter week and season as well.
Thank you, Armand, for your encouragement.
As for your being fixed up, yes, I can see why those two prospects would not have worked out for you. All of my girlfriends (who are married) have not wanted to fix me up with anyone -- I guess, for lack of knowing anyone. And another one of my girlfriends said she didn't want to introduce me to two guys she knows because "they're just too creepy," and I trust her judgment.
As for the gent at the Byzantine Rite church, turns out he's married. So, there ya have it ... back to the drawing board, or rather, to the sewing room... making lots of progress on the current project, which always bring me lots of joy while listening to audio books.

I turned off my auto renew on CM and dont pay any attention to it.
What have I missed around here? Anyone have happy news?
Hi, Diane!
Good to see you again!
Happy news? Here's a little ... though probably not very exciting, but while on a break at work, I'm writing; and here on the desk next to the computer screen are three huge and very fragrant pink peony flowers I brought into the office on Wednesday (from the garden at home). More are blooming, and another three tubers were planted about a month ago and have begun to pop up through the ground. So, waiting for them to mature and blossom in a month or so. That's about all that's happening and happy with me!
I don't stress about all the hatred from those folks anymore ... I just pray for them and wish them well.
Again, so good to see you here, Diane! Take care and God bless you!
