Does anyone have to work with Gen Zers (born between 1997-2012, according to Wikipedia)?
I'm a Millennial, and I've been in the workforce for a decent time now. I find some Gen Zers to be entitled, whiny, undisciplined, and bratty. One in particular has no respect for authority. She whines, "EWWWWW!!!!!!" and "What do you want now?!?" I was talking with some older colleagues with at least 10 years more experience than me. They said that 15 years ago, pharmacy techs used to ask pharmacists, "What else can I do?" Gen Z techs now play on their phones and scowl at you when you give them work. I'm kinda at the end of my rope. If my supervisor sees my post, I don't care.

They can't imagine a life without a cell phone, fancy cars, designer clothes and a work environment where the less you can do, the more "me" time is left. I pre-date even the Baby Boomers, but I remember when everyone was grateful they had jobs and were willing to work hard to keep them. No freebies, you earned what you had and you kept it, no throwaway society back then. I am appalled that people are resisting going back to the office to work long after Covid, and getting away with it. I just read where one company is saying, "come back to the office to work or get fired"....Good for them, I hope it catches on.

Come the next recession, who is going to be made redundant, the person who works or the person who plays on their phone? The world is a competitive place and other countries crave the top table. If the work force of current lead countries don't pull their weight, then the work force of other countries will and those countries will overtake. GenZ will have only themselves to blame, except they'll be too busy playing on their phones, blaming others.

We have a recent gen Z hire who is a really lovely young lady and I think this is her first proper job. Her work ethics are truly Gen Z's work ethics.

I closed 15 cases today. They were basically done. All that could be done had been anyway, these were just the write ups.
Drove home in a rainy, starless, black night. It's done. This was the last day of work at that place. I have had worse jobs. But none so incompetently run and so unproductive. But... It's done. I shall enjoy an undistracted and pensive Allhallowtide, beginning now.
