"Patience is power, Patience is not an absence of action; rather it is "timing." It waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way."

Many but here is one that comes to mind:

"Two things I ask of you; deny them not to me before I die: Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the LORD?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God." Proverbs 30:7-9 (ESV)

I've started to look at these two suggested from an online Healing Retreat. I've written them down on post-it notes and placed them on my mirror:

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope."

and

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."

I Cor 9:5. Do we not have the right to take a sister [i.e., Christian woman] around as a wife, as do the other apostles, the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas [i.e., Peter]?

Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord: and behold the Lord passes, and a great and strong wind went before the Lord over throwing the mountains, and breaking the rocks into pieces:

the Lord is not in the wind, and after the wind an earthquake:

the Lord is not in the earthquake.

And after the earthquake a fire: the Lord is not in the fire, and after the fire a whisper of gentle air.

And when Elias heard it, he covered his face with his mantle, and coming forth stood at the entrance of the cave, and behold a voice unto him, saying: Why are you here, Elias?

I like that passage, James ... thank you.

Probably my most favorite quotes of Our Lord's ... "I will not leave you orphans." and "I know mine and mine know Me."

I have a few; besides John 3:16, one that i keep in the back of my mind is Matthew 19:21  “its easier for a Camel to pass through the eye of a needle that a Rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven”.. and the parable of the Talents.. the Servants who were each given several talents each.

Back in the early 90's we had two young priests join us at Blessed Sacrament parish in Scottsdale, Arizona. One of them knew the value and retention of a short sermon. Here we are, some 30 years later and I can still quote one of his really short ones:

"What will you do today to show that you are a Christian?"

Since this thread says, "Quotes and Bible Verses". here's one non-bible quote I use as one of my golden rules. I couldn't remember who said this, Plato, Descartes, Aristotle, but after some research I found that it was Mark Twain, bless his heart:

“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”
