Ham is more traditional for Easter. But it's interesting that I read an article recently that most of the Christian world eats lamb for Easter and that this was the case in the U.S. until the mid-20th century. I would just do what is easier for you.

My Mom would prepare either lamb or ham... I love both; but don't know yet what I'll prepare.  I'm leaning towards a couple lamb chops with mint jelly.  They're very expensive, but I figure that I can treat myself, once a year, on this special occasion.

We always had ham. And blackeyed peas. Our Easter observance was vestigal and meaningless. We were strongly Protestants because we were emphatically not Catholic.

Nothing upset my militantly Protestant family so much as when I actually did become an authentic Protestant. (That excludes my sister. She was a covert Catholic sympathizer via her infatuation with Mexico and Latin America generally.)

Anyway, not lamb or ham, but Tex-Mex which I am craving.

hopefully I will order turkey........we may be down to three now

calming myself today......baking bread........holy thursday

will meditate on the season.........worries on the back burner
[it's only money and my kids and grandkids are all that matters]
