I noticed an unusually red colored cloud directly above me in the sky...yet it was already an hour past sunset. Within a few minutes redness and red beams of light showed up starting in the North and then from different directions engulfing much of the sky around me. For years I have tried to get a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis on very rare occasions when there is a miniscule chance of actually seeing anything in this area, and have always ended up seeing nothing at all.... and this time I wasn't even looking for them.
Though trivial, it's a little something I am recently thankful for... that I just happened to be outside at that time and in the right place to get a great view.
