I am seeing my Godson today who has decided he would like to become a woman and has changed his name by Deed Poll to a woman's name.  The next step is hormone therapy and then surgery.

I would be interested to hear your views on the trans issue and particularly Catholic teaching on it.

I am all at sea about it.

The Church's teaching is that "God made them, male and female" ... directly from Genesis.

It's also my understanding that much of the European research has turned around their thinking, they are against gender reassignment.  

May God help him, and I'll keep both of you, and his family in my prayers.
